DISASTER MITIGATION

In 1995, a visionary entrepreneur named Michael Hamdorf set out to make his mark on the business world by starting ServiceMaster of the Eastern Sierra. With an unwavering commitment to quality and innovation, Michael singlehandedly developed the company into one of the most successful businesses in the community. He poured every ounce of energy into building the company, often dedicating nearly every waking moment—and even sacrificing some of his sleep time—brainstorming ideas to improve and expand the business. His tireless work ethic and passion for excellence paid off, as ServiceMaster became a cornerstone of the community, providing steady, high-quality jobs to local residents. Michael took immense pride in not just growing the business, but in creating opportunities for his employees to thrive and succeed.
In 2022, after nearly three decades of success, the company saw a new chapter unfold as Manny and Paola Garcia took over the reins. With a shared vision for the future, the Garcias rebranded the business, changing its name to **Waterdogs**.
Their mission was clear: to continue the legacy of excellence while placing an even greater focus on giving back to the community that had supported the business for so long.
Under Manny and Paola’s leadership, Waterdogs has evolved into more than just a business—it has become a vital part of the community, with the Garcias at the forefront of local initiatives. They believe that being successful means being an active member of the community, and they’ve made it their core mission to help those around them, from supporting local charities to participating in community events. Waterdogs continues to provide the same reliable, high-quality services that Michael built the company on, but with a renewed sense of purpose centered on community engagement and service.
Today, Waterdogs stands as a testament to Michael’s hard work and vision, as well as to the Garcias’ dedication to improving the lives of their neighbors and fellow community members.

MAKING WAVES WERE IT COUNTS

BECAUSE OUR WORK GOES DEEPER THAN CLEANING
At Waterdogs, giving back isn’t just something we do — it’s part of who we are. From community fundraisers to hands-on projects, we love rolling up our sleeves to help local organizations make a difference.
Over the years, we’ve contributed to a wide variety of causes in Mammoth Lakes and Mono County, supporting programs that protect the environment, keep our community safe, and make the outdoors accessible to everyone.
Recently, we donated a full Home Environmental Package valued at $1,500 to Access Mammoth for their annual auction, helping fund their incredible programs that bring inclusive outdoor adventures to life.
Beyond this, we’ve supported organizations such as Mono County Sheriff Search & Rescue, the Mono Lake Committee, and many more local projects — from school and charity fundraisers to community initiatives — all with the goal of strengthening the town we call home.
We take pride not only in contributing financially, but also in actively participating in projects, volunteering our time, sharing resources, and using our professional services to make a tangible impact. Because for us, being a Waterdog means more than cleaning — it means helping our community thrive.
